Introduction

The Missio Agent is an AI-powered teammate that constantly monitors incoming webhooks and data from your connected tools—such as Slack, Jira, Linear, and email. Whenever your team or customers mention something that fits one of your automation criteria, the Agent can act independently, or ask for your confirmation if further context is needed.

Key Capabilities

  • Automatically creates or updates tickets in project management tools (Jira, Linear, etc.)
  • Drafts and sends emails on your behalf (if allowed)
  • Periodically checks for unresolved issues, stale threads, or unassigned tasks
  • Requests user confirmation on ambiguous actions, maintaining a balance between autonomy and oversight

How It Works

  1. The Agent receives a webhook from one of your connected platforms (e.g., Slack mention, new email, new Jira or GitHub issue, etc.).
  2. It processes the content based on your configured automation rules or AI-driven context detection.
  3. If the Agent is confident, it executes the required actions—like creating new tasks, updating statuses, or sending an email.
  4. If it needs more information, the Agent will reach out via chat, Slack, or email to ask for clarification or confirmation.

Configuring Autonomy

You can configure how autonomous you want the Agent to be:

  • Full Autonomy: The Agent acts without asking.
  • Hybrid Mode: The Agent pings you in Slack/email for confirmation.
  • Monitor-Only Mode: The Agent only logs potential tasks for you to confirm.

Use the “Settings → Agent” page in Missio to fine-tune these preferences.

Agent Benefits

  • Time Savings: Offload mundane updates and reminders.
  • Reduced Human Error: The AI never forgets or overlooks tasks, ensuring consistent coverage.
  • Increased Velocity: Tasks get created, assigned, or followed up on faster, freeing your team to focus on actual product work.
